Our favorite Outfoxed gal racks up eight--count 'em!--outright lies in a desperate attempt to smear Fox News. Sorry, it failed.

There are many deceptive techniques that are part and parcel of being one of the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed cabal). But there's one moldy oldy, one tried-and-true recourse when all attempts to smear Fox News fail, that always impresses the gullible: just lie.

And whom do we find engaging in these veracity-challenged fusillades? None other than nefarious nancy, master of the phony quote--and now, virtuoso of falsehoods:

Later, at 12:15pm in an interview with Zanny Minton Beddoes (The Economist)... [David] Asman led off by announcing that during his recent 2-week European vacation he was appalled at how dirty the air, the water & the general environment were in London.

Could this be our first lie? Let's see how Asman "led off" the interview:

DAVID ASMAN: Good to see you Zanny; thanks for coming in.
BEDDOES: My pleasure.
ASMAN: What does Tony Blair want from Bush?
BEDDOES: Well he wants two things...

She shoots, and she scores! But can she pull off two lies in a row?

This, of course, spun off into a discourse pooh-poohing global warming & other environmental issues.

BEDDOES: Europeans are much more focused on global warming than Americans. It's a really big deal in Europe. They sense it in their own weather patterns. But more broadly, they recognize the signs and they think it's a real big issue and something needs to be done about it....Americans aren't really focused on this issue; Bush administration didn't want anything to do with the Kyoto agreement....They've been kind of reluctant to acknowledge the science.

Looks like the nancster is two for two.

neither of these interviews could be called "fair & balanced", since only one viewpoint from one guest was provided in each.

Hmm. All interviews should be conducted in pairs? The program should be renamed Noah's Ark? Edward R Murrow, Tim Russert, and (gasp!) Bill Moyers are all biased because they don't do all their interviews in pairs? (No, we couldn't make this stuff up.)

But the London bombings lead the dishonest newspup into new paroxysms of fabrication:

Want some "hard news" about the bombings in London? I hope viewers weren't counting on FNL today...Here are the segments during the last hour of this so-called "hard news" program...

Nefarious nancy regularly claims that the last hour of Fox News Live airs from noon to 1:00 pm. Maybe her ego is such that if she's not watching it, then it just doesn't exist! But it's all merely another fabrication (#3), since the last hour of FNL airs from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. But we'll play along and pretend it airs at noon. The newsliar continues:

12:00pm - BSkyB interview of Rudy Giuliani (GOP, former mayor of NYC)
12:11pm - interview of Dennis Ross (former US Ambassador) & David Levy ("former national security official"

According to nancy, FNC aired an 11-minute interview with Giuliani. (Note also how she labels him as GOP, but fails to label either Ross or Levy as Dems. Typical hound dishonesty). But the interview with Rudy actually ran from 12:07 to 12:11.

OK, class, now why did nancy tell this lie (#4)? What was some reason other than to make a false claim that a GOPer got 11 minutes of air time when he actually got four? Of course there was; the newspoodles rarely lie without a sinister purpose. And in this case, the purpose is revealed by a stunningly brazen sequence of lies, one after another:

During the last hour of the program, for example, there wasn't a single segment that updated what was happening on the ground in London...

ALASTAIR WANKLYN: You have literally tens of thousands of people, perhaps more than that, now walking down, surging down the roads in Central London. And just here in particular, they're pausing to have a look at that bus...

#6:

No damage assessments...

ASMAN: There were three--four subway stations actually--affected by three bombings in the subway system. And then that one horrendous bombing that ripped apart the top of a double-decker bus.

#7:

...no tallies of dead or wounded...

ASMAN: Four bombings today leading to at least 33 deaths; we know there are more deaths than that...

#8:

...no interviews with survivors or local first responders or local leaders

And these examples are just the ones from the "missing seven minutes" that nancy misrepresented in the beginning. There were more that followed, but the above citations suffice to clearly establish the anti-Fox terriers as liars, and nefarious nancy as the prima donna of prevarication.
