Ignorance to the Power of Tan
Updated! Sometimes you can only shake your head in wonder. Just how uninformed are the Fox haters at the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed mob)? We have Deborah to thank for this latest bit of jaw-droppery. Burdened with an actual video clip, her ability to construct doctored quotes was hampered, so instead she just cooked up an imaginary cause celebre:
Megyn Kelly Describes Michelle Obama's Style: "Camelot With A Tan"... When Kelly said Michelle Obama's style was "Camelot with a tan", it was clear where she was trying to go with the segment.Oooh. Is it clear to you too? It was certainly clear to the credulous kennel dwellers, who didn't need a memo to figure out how to follow up on Deb's lead. As ignorant as Debbie's post was, the gullible denizens of the dog pound raised that ignorance to the 10th power:

CAROL COSTELLO, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Interestingly, while Cindy McCain chose jeans for her "Vogue" spread, her likely competitor, Michelle Obama, chose a traditional black dress with pearl earrings for her "Vogue" spread. As the "Washington Post" described it, it was as if Michelle Obama was saying, "I'm not some scary other. I am Camelot with a tan."Hmm. This apparently makes Ms Costello another racist, shameless, snanky whore--if the Fox haters were to be consistent. But wait, there's more. You will notice a reference there to the Washington Post? Yes, it's true, the eeevil Fox phrase originated in that horrible Obama-hating rag:
Obama's photos seemed crafted specifically to help the viewer imagine her in the role of first lady. She is a study in little black dresses, conservative pearls, preppy hair and restraint. Again, the implied message is unmistakable: I am neither subversive nor threatening. I am not some scary "other." I am Camelot with a tan.So Deb and the kennel-dwellers take a positive, pro-Obama sentiment and turn it into some sort of evil racist attack. Why? Because someone on Fox said it. That's really beyond ignorance. It's wholesale hypocrisy and intellectual bankruptcy taken to heights that only the haters at the kennel can attain.
UPDATE: Additional uses of the phrase that only became a hateful, racist slur when it was mentioned on Fox: That last one deserves to be quoted:
Didn't Michelle Obama say something re Camelot in her Vogue spread? Something about Obama's administration being "Camelot with a tan." If she didn't, she should have. I think that's fantastic.
