A Lie Too Brazen To Ignore
After exposing another newshound lie last night, we thought we were through with them for a while. But when it comes to smearing Fox News, they never sleep. When we saw what they're trying to pull this morning, there was no way we could let it pass without comment:
Greta Van Susteren Helps Hillary Appeal To The Super Delegates And Coincidentally Tear Down ObamaLet's first dispense with the sneering mini-lie that On the Record is "restricted" to non-political stories. What about the interviews with George Bush, Laura Bush, Al Sharpton, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and John McCain? Nightly coverage of the election is the rule rather than the exception, so much so that on Greta's blog there are regular complaints about too much politics.
Greta Van Susteren, who usually restricts her show, On The Record, to lost cruise passengers and murdered blondes, joined the FOX News meme of tearing down Barack Obama last night (5/13/08) during what was ostensibly a “fair and balanced” discussion about the results of the West Virginia primary. Her only guest was none other than Karl Rove, Republican partisan extraordinaire.
Ellen wants people to think Greta's coverage was not "fair and balanced" because "her only guest" was Rove, a "Republican partisan extraordinaire". That was enough to convince the gullible kennel-dwellers:
- There was a day when I had respect for Greta. There seemed to be a day when she had more respect for herself.
- I liked her better in "Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS."
- The interview was disgraceful. A true low for FOX.
- Good thing no one cares what Frankenstein's daughter thinks and no one takes her seriously
- I was really shock [sic] to hear that Greta is married to a man. I really thought she was gay.

But wait, there's more. After Susan Estrich came Juan Williams, commentator for National Public Radio.

Oh, one more thing. Two, actually. Greta's election coverage continued with Jeff Mapes of the Oregonian, and Joe Gerth of the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Ellen said nothing about any of these people, what they were asked, what they said, or the content of their analysis. She's playing the "invisible man" trick again, trying to making four people disappear with a sleazy, transparent fabrication. Greta's "only guest" was the Republican partisan Rove? Another Hound Lie. fox news nh
