Debbie Plays Doctor...Quote Doctor

She's baaaaack. It's Deborah of the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed cabal). And she's playing her favorite game: Doctor. Quote Doctor.

How many ways are there to doctor a quote? Let's take Deb's "reports" on one program and see how badly the words can be twisted:

Megyn Kelly Needs To Keep The Drama Going on America's Election HQ
Debbie gives us a litany of outrages from Megyn (aka the racist slut per the hounds): Major Garrett, Adam Smith, and then this one:
Next try was with Jehmu Greene asking if Hillary Clinton as VP would "upstage" Barack Obama. This didn't work out either since Greene insisted both appealed to different voters making it a good combination. She finally got a little action from Kirsten Powers...
Where to start? OK, first of all Deborah's outrage over "upstage" is dishonest and phony. Why did Debbie quote all of one word? Because it was Ed Rendell (D) who made the statement about Hillary upstaging Obama:
RENDELL: Rule one for the Vice-President is never upstage the President, right? Hillary Clinton in some ways could not help but upstage even if she was trying not to.
That's what Ms Greene was asked to respond to. Why do you suppose Deb doesn't mention that? The kennel, of course, was happy to weigh in on Ms Kelly:
  • Kelly is just another right wing sneer machine on a network filled with right wing sneer machines.
  • Megyn Kelly segments are like a televised version of the NY Post
There's just one problem here. Listen to a bit of the interview. Has Megyn Kelly's voice changed? No, your ears are not deceiving you. That's Bill Hemmer doing the talking. But that didn't fit Debbie's game plan so she just claimed it was Megyn--and the credulous believed her! This newspoodle fixation on Megyn Kelly, to the point of claiming Bill Hemmer's interview was hers, is exceedingly unhealthy. Do you think there just might be a meow factor in play here?

But Deborah was just getting warmed up, and today surpassed herself. First the Debster writes:
Hume, the wise elder on FOX HQ, told Hemmer that " broadly speaking" America is ready for an African - American president noting that Obama has a lot of the qualities the country wants....
Now D has really boiled this down to its bare bones, and you don't have to guess the parts she didn't include:
HUME: Obama has about him a lot of the qualities I think Americans would like to see in a President, and especially in an African-American President. A man who seems to have succeeded in much the way that people in the rest of the country of all races have succeeded. He came up, worked his way along, he went to good schools, he went out and started a career and made his way. He comes across as an utterly reasonable and highly appearling and engaging man, a man of many talents and many charms. Most people I think admire that.
After skipping all that, Debbie continues:
...qualities the country wants, adding that there is a big problem. Because of his associations, Hume continued...
Well no, Brit didn't say there is a "big" problem:
HUME: There is however one potential problem, and that is, and in his associations...
So, a potential problem turns into a big problem when run through Deb's quote-mangling machine.

But we've saved the best for last. The ultimate goal of a quote doctorer: to completely reverse the meaning of what someone said. A perfect, 180-degree lie. And thanks to Deborah, we have a winner:
His next comment was a distortion bordering on a bold [sic] faced lie. Hume claimed that Obama said he disassociated himself from the Trinity Church "which he has not done."
So according to Deb, Hume called Obama a liar, and insisted Obama never left his church? As you might expect, the truth is exactly the opposite. Note how Dr Deb falsified the only five words she put in quotes:
HUME: It took him a long time, even this year, to disassociate himself from, which he has now done, all the while saying that he's not denouncing that Church."
Yes we have here a distortion "bordering on a bold [sic] face lie". Only it wasn't Brit Hume. It was another counterfeit quote from Deborah. When will her lies end?
