Stupid Lie of the Night

You have to hand it to the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed cabal). Their ignorance is flabbergasting, and to cover it up, they are willing to silence the truth, and watch as their minions lie to cover their mutt butts.

This would be just another bit of hound idiocy if it weren't for how clumsily they tried to cover up their cluelessness. Chrish is astonished that Fox is actually running election results during commercials:

To prove their claim that they have the best election coverage, FOX today 5/6/08 carried their bottom-third graphics through commercials on Studio B. Yup, I guess they win in the race for non-stop meaningless coverage.
Why is exactly is this such a big deal? CNN and other channels have been doing it for years. But no matter, it was enough to rile up the kennel:
  • To advertisers when you do business with Fox you walk out of the room with fleas.
  • If I were an advertiser, I'd demand a refund and take my money to a broadcast service that ran commercials in full screen mode.
  • Is there a broadcasting rule or something against doing that? I've noticed that legitimate news channels will only interrupt ads like that when there's an extreme weather alert.
Now the last thing the mutts want is for someone to point out that they are wrong. And, silly us, we went and did just that:

Uh oh. The last thing Fox haters will tolerate is someone telling the truth. Our comment was erased within minutes. But even more amazing is what happened in those minutes before it disappeared:
  • Of course if Fox defenders say that the other channels are doing it, that, as they say in that great Ed Wood flick, Plan 9 From Outer Space, "proves it."
  • I'm on MSNBC now and nada, bupkis, rien, etc. during the commercials.
  • MSNBC is not doing it.
It's bad enough that the credulous swallow the drivel of drooling Fox haters. It's even worse when they lie to cover up for them:
