As part of her internship in Apple's Human Interface Group, Laura Teodosio joined my team and extended her work at MIT on Panoramic Scenes to the realm of Navigable QuickTime movies. Laura developed a HyperCard stack which included a 360 degree movie of a room (a bedroom in a Russian palace) which had been processed as a flat 360 degree panoramic overview. Clicking anywhere in the overview would show a corresponding detailed region in a second window.
