MusicNet was a startup company whose goal was to develop personalized on-line services in the area of entertainment and media. It was one of the first companies to develop proprietery technology for tracking user behavior and for incorporating this knowledge to suggest to new products and services.
I lead the design and prototyping of the MusicNet CD-ROM which incorporated a number of innovative features allowing people to preview digitized audio clips, get album information and to purchase albums. The product won New Media's silver award for best interface design in 1995.
I also designed and prototyped a MusicNet JukeBox which explored the use "drag-and-drop" iconic filters to construct custom music searches.
Ultimately, MusicNet was acquired by RealNetworks and is seeing new life today as pay for download service.
