If we think of a blank canvas as an empty theatre, each
painting is a play and each shape is a character.
Midori's characters come from nature, music, movies,
books and wherever the light is inspiring.
There is music in Art, just as there are images in Music.
Midori combines color, texture and form into a fluid
whole until the melody can be seen.
Midori has been extensively showing her work in Asia,
USA and Europe.
She cofounded "Art Intensive!" (based in Milan) with the
Italian artist and writer, Antonio Mansueto (founder) in
April, 2008.
Midori McCabe is an American artist (lives and works in
San Francisco Bay Area) of Japanese origin. She has
also lived in London.
Her work is imbued with a deep appreciation of color and
music. She brings to her work a reflecting of the
different cultures she has lived in.
An exponent of that multicultural phenomenon "Alter
modern" espoused by Nicolas Bourriaud of the Tate
Modern of London. Alter Modernism is a reaction against
standardization and commercialism in Art. Midori has an
alter passion and a love for the artistic heart of Tuscany,
the door to old Europe.
