on this day in history
nothing has changed since 1556
sadly.....
I'm not about to start making this a regular,
there's plenty of other places you can go for that but while suffering a moment
of, shall we say, 'distraction' at work today I found out that today, i.e March
21st.......
in 1556 Thomas Cranmer, the
Archbishop of Canterbury, was burned at the stake at Oxford for treason after
retracting the last of seven recantations that same day. Clearly an awkward time
to have religious beliefs.... so nothing has changed then despite the 'advance
of civilisation' into 2006... I shall say no more.
