5 months of dossing are at an end

...bugger, I'll miss getting up late and cruising around on my bike in the best of the daytime sunshine...

well, it had to happen at some point I suppose... after 5 months of 'recovery', otherwise known as dossing around, (the benefits of which are not desperately clear to me at the moment...) this evening marks the end of my freedom... by 8.30am tomorrow morning I shall be in the office dealing with a rather large backlog of emails... well, I should be assuming I can get all my passwords reset (my memory isn't that good!). In all probability it will only take a second or two to take care of the backlog, or about as long as it takes for my finger to reach the 'delete' key :o)

To mark my last day as a free spirit I've somewhat predictably been out on the bike. Nothing too strenuous as I'd like to be reasonably alert tomorrow, just a steady 70miles along the clifftops north of here finishing off with an eyeballs out race to my favourite beach cafe (a good incentive for a ride...) for a couple of coffees and flapjack before trundling the last few km home for lunch. They do awesome all-day English breakfasts judging by the loaded plates passing my table, one of these days I'll cycle down there specially for breakfast - assuming of course I manage to break the litre of porridge habit... bacon, sausage and egg just ain't good cycling fuel. It's been a windy day (in weather terms that is, nothing to do with last night's lentil curry), bit of a bugger when it's in your face but on the other hand it's not that often I see 80km/hr on my speedo here in Cornwall (the descents are too twisty) but twice today I had the opportunity to give a few drivers a fright. I was a bit naughty tho... 50mph into the 30mph zone at Perranporth wouldn't make me popular with the local constabulary.... Now there's a thought, a number of my cycling buddies are coppers, I wonder what they would have done....?

Time to go, chores to do.... now, if I could just remember where I put the iron all those months ago.... bugger, I'll miss getting up late and cruising around on my bike in the best of the daytime sunshine... On the other hand it'll be cheaper for me as I won't be hanging out at so many cafes... or making so many trips to the bakery across the road... :o(

wish me luck.....
