Bicycles are a great way to travel... I have a passion for remote places, deserts and mountains and this bike carries me there. We've had wild adventures all over the world in some testing terrain and weather and now I regard it as something of an old friend...!

The frame and fork were built from heavy gauge 531 tubes by Thorn here in the UK, the racks are also 531 tubing, from Thorn, which makes the whole package super tough and able to cope with heavy loads and rough roads. The handling is amazingly good even off-road with a full expedition load. The frame is powdercoated matt black for durability mainly buit it also makes it great for not attracting the attention of light-fingered folk, even more so once it's filthy dirty. I built it up with a mix of reliable, strong and easily serviceable components with some concessions to having some nice bits on it - heck, if you're sat looking at your handlebar stem for 10hrs a day you might as well look at a nice one!

Here's the details as it is at time of writing, ready for my next trip to..... Bolivia I think, but I might go to Colombia instead... or Ecuador... or... oh sod it,here we are:
