The Jewish Museum in New York City opened two exhibitions of comic art Sept. 12, 2006.
The first, "Superheroes: Good and Evil in American Comics," is curated by the legendary Jerry Robinson. The second, "Masters of American Comics," is shared with The Newark Museum.
Here's a little video piece I put together of Opening Night.
Speaking: Joan Rosenbaum, Director of The Jewish Museum; Ruth Beesch, Deputy Director for Programs; Jerry Robinson, curator of "Superheroes"; John Carlin and Brian Walker, co-curators of "Masters of Comic Art"; and Gary Panter, whose work is part of the exhibit.
Away from the crowd, Joe Simon talks to me about the cover of Captain America #1 and Irwin Hasen reveals some of the secrets behind his Dondi.
