Audio: Insect Funeral (Asphodel)
Alaric Burns produces Insect Funeralby mixing sounds drawn from an eclectic library of literally hundreds of original and acquired cassettes, multi-track tapes, digital audio tapes, and CDs. These sounds are altered using various audio processing devices, and mixed through two or more speakers. Insect Funeral relies on the synchronicity resulting from live improvisation. Each performance is unique, and no two concerts will be identical. Alaric Burns has shared the stage with Diamanda Galas, Einsturzende Neubaten, The Swans, Negativeland, Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Survival Research Laboratories (SRL), DJ Spooky, Sound Traffic Control, Zev, Barry Schwartz, Pamela Z, Mickey Hart, and mythologist Joseph Campbell. Alaric was a key member of performance and recording groups Rhythm & Noise, and Trial.

Dr. Aaron Wolf Baum (aka Dr. Friendly) is an artist, researcher, and program-mer using biologically and culturally-inspired algorithms to create interactive, self-organizing visual & audio art systems.In 1981 the twelve-year old future Dr. Aaron Wolf Baum, pseudonym Dr. Friendly, read astronomy textbooks, program-med TRS-80s, wrotepoetry, and wandered in the woods. Next came a career in physics, culminating in a Ph.D. from Stanford and a job in Silicon Valley commercializing a technology he had pioneered. His artistic vision was first realized inthe Nebulous Entity which irradiated the 1999 Burning Man festival.
