This style of dance is a purposeful move away from mainstream Belly Dance. It is a fusion of the gothic subculture and middle eastern dance. As in Belly Dance, you can use various props such as veils, capes, daggers, candles and wings as sybols of expression.
The choice of music is as eclectic as the costumes worn. Inspiration may come from Victoriana, Renaissance, 1920’s Art Nouveau, ethnic, punk and cyber. Gothic expression manifests itself through choreography, music and costume.
