Client: Toni Morrison Society
Project: Program Cover
This 4-color program cover was for the Fourth Biannual Conference for the Toni Morrison Society. The goal was to unify much of Toni Morrison's themes. These elements include her novel and operatic adaptation of Beloved, as well as the rich underground railroad history of the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati river valley, the setting of both the story and the convention.
Client: Folgers (study)
Project: Branding and Package Design
This project was purely a study in brand development and renovation. Although this project was merely for my own education, I did get a chance to share this with the, at that time, branding designer for Folgers. His feedback was a great resource, and the experience has stuck with me. Unfortunately, his name hasn't, and I can't seem to find my old class notes anywhere. Blah.
Client: National Mental Health Association (study)
Project: Corporate Identity System
The National Mental Health Association is a non-profit mental health awareness organization. My approach was to create an economical design system that could easily be implemented throughout the various regional branches of this national organization.
The logo identifies the company's dedication to preventing and healing mental illness through education and research. Many of the important attributes for the organization are professionalism, reliability and trustworthiness. The identity reflects the NMHA's extensive understanding of stigmatized mental illness, a medically and socially complicated issue. Additionally, one must also maintain the organizations personable community driven roots. Associated with the Identity System are various implementations of the logo to re-enforce the brands identity throughout the community.
