The historic Maffett Store stands on the main street of Montezuma, GA. This general merchandise store has served the citizens of middle Georgia for almost 110 years. In the great flood of 1994 the entire first floor was inundated by the water of the Flint River. Sadly, following the fate of many family-owned businesses in rural America today, the store recently announced it was closing (2004). |
