Michael Campbell

Michael Campbell is a concert pianist, teacher, and writer. He attended Amherst College, where he graduated magna cum laude, and received the MM and DMA degrees from Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where he studied with Leon Fleisher.

For many years he was Professor of Piano at Western lllinois University. Upon his retirement in 2003, he and his family relocated to Westerly, Rhode Island.

While teaching in Illinois, he directed a Suzuki Piano Program at Western Illinois University for 10 years, and had many prize-winning pre-college students, several of whom have gone on to successful careers in music. He is a lifetime member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
