the Chorus of Westerly

The Chorus of Westerly is a small-town chorus with a big-time season. Every year, the Chorus, which draws its membership from 26 communities in Rhode Island and Connecticut, presents two programs of choral masterworks — e.g., Bach cantatas, requiems by Mozart, Verdi, and Fauré — plus pops concerts at Christmas and in the summer (to 25,000+ people in Westerly's beautiful Wilcox Park), a Celebration of Twelfth Night, and a guest concert by a notable choral ensemble.

Each concert features the 200-voice chorus (including more than 80 children in 2007-2008), plus a full orchestra and internationally known soloists. All but the summer program take place in the Chorus of Westerly's own newly-renovated George Kent Performance Hall, renowned for its superb acoustics.

Suzuki Piano Plus is offered under the auspices of the Chorus of Westerly, as part of their educational outreach program. For more information about the Chorus of Westerly, please visit their website.
