About Suzuki Piano Plus

Suzuki Piano Plus is a comprehensive, Suzuki-based program of piano instruction. The program is located in Westerly, Rhode Island. Lessons and concerts take place at the recently renovated and expanded George Kent Performance Hall, home of the internationally renowned Chorus of Westerly. Suzuki Piano Plus is open to motivated children and their families. Children may begin study as early as four years of age; most students begin between four and seven.

The guiding principle of the program is the “mother tongue” approach developed by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. The core of the curriculum is the Suzuki Piano Method. Enhancing the piano method—the "Plus factor"—are proven strategies for developing technical fluency, “talking music” skills, reading ability, and practicing efficiency.

The director of Suzuki Piano Plus is Dr. Michael Campbell, Professor Emeritus, Western Illinois University, concert pianist, and teacher of many prize-winning students.
