I built Quincy Salvage (another Sierra West kit) as part of a "group construction" project with some other members of Railroad-Line Forums. While I generally followed the construction sequence outlined in the Sierra West construction manual, I deviated at times to do things "my way." One example of doing things my way: the coloring of both the salvage barn and the storage shed is the result of working with gauche and water color pigments, rather than "stains" made from Floquil or Polly paints . Another change I made was to replace all of the white metal door castings with scratchbuilt wood doors. Quincy Salvage won't remain a "shelf orphan" for long, as I already have a space for it penciled in on the plans for my next CM&S module.
