The body knows I have been slacking the past 8 days. How can I tell? It's easy. I haven't done an hour on the elliptical in a long time. I have been breaking it up cardio into 30 minute sessions on the bike, treadmill and elliptical. Last week I skipped a few cardio sessions due to travel, muscle soreness and apathy. So today I pushed myself mentally to complete and hour. Physically it wasn't too bad taking into consideration my average HR was about 153-154 which puts me into my upper cardio limits (85% of max HR). At the end of the hour I always cool down. It usually take my HR about 3-4 minutes to go from 153 to the 110's. No dice today. At the end of the 5 minute cool down period my HR was at 133 - down from 167. At the end of 8 minutes it was hanging at 124. In cool down I stop using the arms and go to level 1 for the duration. Interesting. I really enjoy using the HR monitor. It provides me with a type of coach if you know what I mean.

The past 14 days have been the worst for late night (over)eating. I need really get a grip on it. Tonight I will utilize some alternatives and tactics to combat the overeating. I know I would be at goal by now if I didn't overeat. I have come so far during the past 10 months, but the overeating has surfaced as my number #1 nemesis. I know this issue has been with me for many years, but now it has to be dealt with before I can move to the next level.
