From the archives: 'The Future Lens'

Today's excavation from the cartoon vault is "The Future Lens" -- a four-page backup story I wrote and drew for ODDJOB, the fabulous comic book by Ty and Ian Smith.

The brothers let me hijack their characters (including Moe, Investigator of the Odd) to ask a simple question: If you're looking through a window that tells the future and you see your friend's head explode, is there any way to stop that from happening?

I've posted the answer after the jump. Click the "Read More" link below to peruse "The Future Lens" in its entirety. There won't be a test later.

(Oh, and good Lord, I can't say enough great things about Ty and Ian. ODDJOB was "The Venture Bros." back when Jackson Publick was still watching "Jonny Quest" in his dorm room. They're these totally low-key comics rock gods, and these days they're also making some very promising forays into feature filmmaking. Read ODDJOB. Read their latest book, Emily and the Intergalactic Lemonade Stand. Watch their movie, "The Sexy Chef." )
