Kim Morgan's Sunset Gun goes off

I became a film critic at The Oregonian only after the great Kim Morgan left for fresh horizons in Los Angeles. Kim's been one of my favorite film writers for years, long before she became a friend, largely because (a) she approaches almost any film from an angle of her own private crazed calculus, and (b) she has a great and abiding love of serial killers, B-trash and old classics -- which makes for some wonderful free associations in her writing that you simply won't find anywhere else. The woman is a true original in a field dominated by geeks, pretentious wankers and Kael wannabes, and God bless her for it.

Anyway, Kim's writing is sort of spread all over the Web at the moment. And so, at the gentle urging of a few of her peers, she's finally launched a one-stop writing center -- a central blog with links to all her work. Do yourself a favor and go visit Sunset Gun. Kim's on kind of a crazy-movie-blonde blogging spree at the moment, with a brief foray into the wonders of Charles Bronson.

And yes, you slobbering dorks: That is her real picture up there. Though this one will always be my favorite:
