'True Portland Comics' panel at Stumptown Comics Fest this Saturday

So a few months ago Indigo Kelleigh and I were chatting via e-mail about how an unusually high number of non-fiction cartoonists live in Portland. And now this panel discussion is happening from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 -- during Indigo's hotly anticipated Stumptown Comics Fest:

True Portland Comics
Presented by Mike Russell
Mike Russell (creator of The Oregonian's journalism comic CulturePulp) moderates a panel discussion about the art and ethics of non-fiction comics. Featuring locally based non-fiction cartoonists David Chelsea (author of David Chelsea in Love and Perspective! for Comic-Book Artists), Ryan Alexander-Tanner (Willamette Week's comics journalist), and Khris Soden (author of the "City of Roses" comics, which chronicle moments in Portland history) -- plus the legendary Dennis P. Eichhorn, author of Real Stuff by Dennis P. Eichhorn and a Host of Artists.

You can find everything you need to know about the Stumptown Comics Fest -- including a list of the other great panel offerings -- right here.
