FOLLOW-UP: Yes, I ran the Portland Marathon


In case anyone who read this CulturePulp comic strip was wondering: Yes, I did finish the Portland Fit program. And yes, I ran the Portland Marathon just yesterday.

Here's a phone-cam picture that shows how I was feeling during the 17th (or was it the 18th?) mile on the St. Johns Bridge:




I also have a two-part message for the volunteer who caught me walking on mile 24 and said, "So -- you gonna try again next year?":

(a) Bite me.

(b) Thank you. Your smarmy little laugh after you said that pissed me off so much, I ended up running the last two miles in negative splits.
