CulturePulp 48: Art Spiegelman vs. the World

UPDATE: Links to the podcast of Spiegelman's entire presentation (and now the KBOO podcast) removed by official request.

READER TIP: This strip's a little trickier to navigate online than usual. After the "Art Spiegelman vs. the World" headline, you're supposed to read one "tower" of comics, then the other. It's pretty obvious in the print version.

Endnotes and Digressions:

1. I promised the organizers -- who were very cool about sneaking me into this sold-out event at the last minute -- that I'd mention that Spiegelman's talk was put on by the University of Oregon's Comparative Literature Program.

2. The University of Oregon's Daily Emerald also reported on this event. They've since fixed it, but there used to be one hilarious misquote at the beginning of the piece -- where they had Spiegelman describing himself as "an erotic, self-absorbed cartoonist from New York." Which may be true. But nevertheless.
