Neni ginna

Climbing partway up the escarpment to the village of Neni, we saw this elaborately decorated ginna. The hogon, the spiritual leader of the village, lives in the dwelling. The curvy linear designs near the bottom are snake symbols. Hogons, according to our Dogon guide, don't need to take baths - snakes lick them clean!
