| Silver symbols on doors revealed information about the home's inhabitants. According to our Songhoy guide, the bird-like design on top symbolizes peace. The number of dots represented the number of children. The middle design (magnified in the photo at right) represents man (large circle) and woman (smaller circle) and the mysterious connection between them (connecting ring). | ||||||||
