One of our favorite restaurants was San Toro. Although the authentic food was good, I mainly enjoyed coming because of the entertainment. Our kora teacher, Djeli Mady and his several brothers were featured performers at the Bamako restaurant. On this evening, Djeli Mady (pictured third from left) and his brothers performed for several hours, fulfilling a special request in honor of the birthday of Diane Magagna, also taking kora lessons.
