Cathedrals and city scenes of ZagrebWhereas the food and language of Serbia and Croatia are nearly identical (except that Serbia uses both Cyrillic and a modified Latin script), the most notable difference between the two former Yugoslav areas is their religion. Croats are overwhelmingly Catholic and most Serbs belong to the Serbian Orthodox Church. In Zagreb, the church architecture was much more reminiscent of Western European areas, as opposed to the more domed architecture of the Serbian Orthodox churches. |
