Ghost Whisperer Recurring Cast

An alphabetical list of recurring character names with the name of the actor (or sometimes actors) who played them. Only two characters have been “officially” designated as recurring (both in season two): Rick Payne and Ned Banks. We have broadened the definition to include any guest character who appears in more than two episodes. The list is split into two parts: part 1 are those recurring characters who have appeared in the current season and part 2 is those who haven’t. Character descriptions and actor biographies are included for the more prominent recurring characters.

Prominent Recurring Cast

Ned Banks is a recurring character who makes his debut in “Love Still Won’t Die,” the second episode of season two. We first meet Ned when Melinda catches him trying to steal Grateful Dead concert tickets from her antique store. Melinda determines Ned is acting under the influence of a ghost and decides to give Ned the tickets in return for working in her store. As a typical budding teenager, Ned isn’t too good about fulfilling his obligation and so his mother winds up taking his place which leads to the start of a beautiful friendship with Melinda. Ned, the 12 year old son of regular character Delia Banks, lost his father three years earlier in an ATM mugging. Ned is basically a good kid but has a lot of unresolved grief issues with his mother over the brutal death of his father.

Tyler Patrick Jones is perhaps one of the hardest working kids in Hollywood, once shooting three different commercials over a four day period, and booking another commercial on his day off. His movies include Minority Report, Red Dragon, Silver Lake, Fathers and Sons, Bad News Bears, Feast, and Yours, Mine and Ours. On television, Jones guest starred on Family Law, Judging Amy, Summerland and Crossing Jordan before joining Ghost Whisperer. When not working, Tyler enjoys swimming, soccer and t-ball. He has also played piano since the tender age of two.
