Fast National ratings for Friday, Oct. 16, 2009
CBS Friday night win in the ratings looks very similar to the previous weeks, but got some competition from Game 1 of the baseball playoffs between the Angels and the Yankees on FOX. As expected, the two-hour premiere of Ugly Betty on ABC improved on the previous weeks reruns of FlashForward and comedies, bringing the network an okay third-place finish for the night.
CBS averaged 8 million viewers and an 5.1 rating/9 share in households. FOX took second with 7.4 million viewers and a 4.6/8 share, while NBC (6.1 million, 4.1/7) took third. ABCs 5.7 million and 3.9/7 was good for fourth, and The CW took up last position (2 million, 1.3/2).
FOX took the demo title home, however, grabbing a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49. CBS was second with a 2.0, followed by ABC, 1.6, NBC, 1.4, and The CW at 0.8.
