Then there is always almost slightly more...

Since the Thanksgiving weekend, I had the distinct pleasure going to the vast suburban debris field known as New Jersey for a business meeting. At least that evening safe back in civilization, those of us who survived the hell of suburbia had a good dinner at a hotel restaurant.

The next evening I attended a alumni event of my undergraduate alma mater. It is odd that all the alumni functions in NYC in the last few years have been held in private function rooms of Irish pubs. This college now treats young adults under 21 who are old enough to get married, execute contracts, be adult entertainment models, purchase cigarettes, vote, serve on juries, kill another human being legally in the armed forces, be killed in the armed , be physically and psychologically damaged in combat situations in the armed forces, etc. are treated with such contempt and disdain that this college will contact the parents of these legal adults for the first time they are caught with an alcoholic beverage. We all know that almost everyone who drinks starts before they are 21 and this is normal. We also know that the 21 year old drinking age causes its own set of serious problems. It is also a blatant and evil human rights violation of young adults. Oh, and colleges should treat the students as customers and NOT the parents. If the parents are paying the tuition that is a private arrangement between the student and his or her parents and NOT something to which the college should be party.

On Saturday evening the Infamous PM and the Emperor attended an audience with Meglomanious at Swifts. Afterwards the Emperor and I went to the B Bar & Grill for a late dinner.

Last night, as part of the campaign to take more advantage of the culture of NYC besides rock concerts, El Diablo and I saw the musical Spring Awakening. It was pretty good. I am not usually a big fan of musicals, but the music last night was a big improvement on the usual insipid "show tunes".

Also this week there was another business lunch. This time as Via Italia. On Friday I also had a business type of lunch. Today I had a dermatologist appointment and last week it was an ophthalmologist appointment.

I also finished reading another English novel or rather a memoir entitiled: The Elfish Gene by Mark Barrowcliffe. Currently I am reading a biography of Augustus Caesar by Anthony Everitt, of course, yet another English author... seems to be a trend here... the last three books written by Englishmen.
