Latest Work: 1/8/07

During the rest of 2006, I was expanding on the ink/colored pencil combinations in several ways. Slabs(1 -6) were done on the computer isolating a section and enlarging it and then reworking a bit with CPs. I tried reworking the outer edges (7&8),starting with a sepia  print on good paper and developing a completely new color scheme(9). With the Confusion series (10-15), I manipulated the sizes and shapes as well as the colors. I also tried to break loose from my usual colors (16-19)  A few representational ones snuck in.  Puffins(20) are such gorgeous birds. Coming to America (21) was an attempt to show the wall of suitcases at Ellis Island.  I wanted to capture the poignancy and impact they have as you walk into the huge entrance hall. Still trying!
