How to Play Circle of Make-Believe Learning Games

By playing Circle of Make-Believe games with preschool children you can help them learn skills they will need when they start school. It's also lots of fun!

If you have the Circle of Make-Believe video and printed manual, read the instructions for each game, then show children that game played by preschoolers and their parents or teachers on the video. Then play the game and have fun. (For information on buying the program, click here.)

(B) Read or print-out the game's instructions and materials.

(C) Set up the materials for each game, one game at a time.
(D) Play that game with one, two or more children.

How Children Learn Through Make-Believe Play
Children love to play, and children learn through play. Through play children learn:

¥ Letters of the alphabet and pre-reading skills
¥ Numbers and counting, colors and shapes
¥ Social skills, such as being polite, sharing, and how to plan, concentrate and pay attention
¥ Spatial relationships (saying where things are)
¥ Fine motor skills for working with school supplies, such as crayons
¥ Using their creativity and imagination
