He created Appleseed, Dominion Tank Police, Orion and of course Ghost in the Shell. Most people probably know him through Ghost in the Shell, an anime movie based the comic book of the same name and was the basis for the Matrix Movie. A friend of mine described him as the Umberto Eco of comic books with his attention to detail and references to history and pop culture.

But back to the series, the TV show is somewhat different. For starters, the series does not begin where the movie ends. It's as if the series is the prologue to the movie. While the movie delves into metaphysical question of body and soul, the series adds a little more action, politics and drama to the mix. See Alias meets The West Wing meets Jag. I'm most probably missing something here but I'll get back to it.

We are re-introduced to Public Safety Section 9 picking up after the events of the first season. I won't give any spoilers about this season. You have to watch it to be impressed. There are a lot of references to movies and literature. All I can say is that this season is bigger than the previous. The series is exciting to the very end. We finally see some emotion from the Major. The Tachikomas are as lovable as ever. And we get to see what's in the mind of the other members of Section 9. All I can say is that the last episode is very moving. The feeling is similar when Aeris dies in Final Fantasy 7. Go out and watch it. You'd have to be crazy to miss out on one of the best-Anime every created.

Podcasting

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

I am seriously thinking of making my blog more of a podcast. I rarely have anytime to update this (until now) and I can do the podcast as I drive to work. Even if driving to work only takes my 15 to 20 minutes depending the traffic situation. I haven't successfully been able to migrate my pics on this revamped site. Nor have I been able to make this the default page. Maybe next week when the long holiday is up, I'll be able to finally do it and have a podcast at the same time. Though video podcasting seems more of a lure to me since I have more video equipment than audio equipment. I'll keep you guys posted.

I can get used to this

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

I'm writing this at work and I'm soooo tired. I was up at 8 and I needed to be at work at 8:30. I got to work actually at 9:30. Met some people. Moved computers. Set off for another part of the city and got back to the office at 2:30. Finally got to sit down at my desk at 4:30. Wow. It's been a really busy day.

I wish apple would change the url of the dot mac homepages to something simpler. Typing http:homepage.mac.com/mynamehere is just waaay too long to keep on typing. I think if it would ba little simpler, more traffic will find it's way to it's member sites. We are paying $100 a year to keep it going with a 100MB space and 15 MB email box. I mean, the free sties have more space. Yahoo and Gmail are both at 1GB. If they won't ramp up the space, They could at least change the url to something simpler.

A new look

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

As you can see this is a very new look for my web site. I'm trying out this new setup. Hopefully this will make things easier navigating through my site. The old page will still be available until I am able to migrate everything to this site.
