Greta is coming into cycle

Greta is
coming into cycle, and Einstein is putting on his
best courting behavior by running, jumping, singing
and licking. Greta is over 3 and very interested in
Einstein, finally. They have been running buddies for
over a year, and now she is being much more
affectionate towards him, licking his eyes and
kissing him and snuggling very close. Einstein is
ecstatic that she has developed this new interest in
him, too. Should they mate successfully, these should
be some awesome pups with their parents bloodlines.

Everyone at The Grooming Table, CoCo and Merlin have
had 3 big, healthy puppies. They definitely show
Estee’s genetics present in Merlin, as Estee
has the larger size of her European bloodline. CoCo
must have had a full house for her petite size.

Saturday the 28th, Estee got on American Airlines and
flew to Dallas, where Daniel and his family picked
her up, took her to their business, The Grooming
Table, washed and buffed her and took her to
Mom’s home where she had a big reception party
with champagne and all the trimmings. What a start to
a beautiful friendship.

Estee is going to my Mom in Texas

Last January while my Mom was in the hospital
recovering from a broken hip and a heart attack that
required the implantation of a defibrillator, her
Bichon of 15 years, Marseilles passed away. She has
been alone since that time, and the other day she
called, needing a companion, but not a puppy. Those
of you who know Estee, know how perfect she is to
take gentle, loving care of Mom. Being 8 years old,
she is mellow and mature and a great snuggler. There
are plenty of other dogs in the neighborhood for her
to visit and play with, and Estee will be spoiled
just like Mom in her golden years.
We hope all of you wish her a safe journey.

Wow! A 10 year old Sussex Spaniel wins Best of Show!

That’s amazing. Hey folks, that is the
equivalent of a 70 year old. The oldest ever to win
it all at Westminster. Congratulations. Stump, the
winner, retired from showing in 2004 and later nearly
died from a mysterious medical condition and the vets
at Texas A&M saved him.

| Anton is going on his 5th month
of age and it was time for Patricia to give
him his first puppy cut. He was very calm and
looked so good we just had to take a few
pictures. This one is of Patricia and Fonzi
practicing stacking.

| The first of September is off to
a busy start. Estee is off with her Prince,
CH Devon Charles Yu for their annual soiree.
Anton is growing into a very beautiful and playful pup who seems to play all day with Einstein, while Greta loves to watch them race around the yard alternating who chases who. She is really the most elegant girl we have ever had the pleasure of living with. So graceful, with the prance of a Tennessee walker and a tail like a flag, held high and always waving. Einstein continues to mature and is a true gentleman who really loves to keep Greta licked clean, especially while courting. He is enjoying being at home, as life on the road of a show dog is about as fun as being in rock and roll band on the road. The audience is the only ones who think they are having fun and not realizing it is work to the players, and their handlers. Our hats are off to those who do it week in and week out, really. |

| Hey friends,
Just wanted to let you know that Hopps (snowball) is doing great. He's been getting in a ton of beach days where he will outrun any dog that comes around. (so fast for a little guy) He's been camping with us where a baby deer and he became friends for the weekend. Health is great. Grooming has been hard with all the outdoor activities, but at this point we just drop him off at a local groomer and hand them a bunch of money. Hope things are well with you both. Tonya is trying to convince me to get a playmate for Hopps so who knows. I'll attach a photo for you. -Sammy |

The shade of the trees, water bowls and the kiddie
swimming pool have become The Packs favorite places
recently as we endure 100 plus temperatures locally.

Today is Einstein's second birthday and he will be
spoiled and loved on all day, while swimming and
playing with Anton and The Pack. Tomorrow he is
eligible for his OFA Certification x-rays on his
elbows and hips which will be done by Dr. Hauser.
Congratulations on 25 ribbons so far this spring and
summer, too.
Anton will also be getting his second series of puppy shots and be implanted with a microchip at Dr. Hauser's. He sure is a precious dog.

We are coming to the end of this litter as Hannah and
Hunter go home today to Lake County with Diana and
Tom. It's been an outstanding litter to work with for
Patricia and I. Thanks to all who inquired. We look
forward to The Baroness and Einstein's litter to
come.
Anton is looking more and more like Einstein. He has a great hop and beautiful hand gestures. In about 7 weeks he will start Conformation training. Anton can start showing at six months, or mid October, in the Puppy Class, for entries 6-9 months of age.

Einstein and Michael win again at the Long Beach
Kennel Club and the Beverly Hills KC Shows in Long
Beach last weekend. It was truly a weekend not fit
for man nor beast as the temperatures were above the
century mark. Some class showings were cancelled and
many dogs failed to even show up. As a result, what
could have been a bounty of points ended up only with
only 1 point towards champion. Luckily, no one
suffered severely, but it looks like a dangerous
summer with the heat being a major factor.

Saturday the Kennel Club of Beverly Hills Show being
held at the Cal State Long Beach campus on the George
Allen Field. A beautiful place for a show, and my old

This is the fun stage of puppies - laying on the
floor and being mauled by The Pack. Sharp little
teeth, fat little tummies, and boundless energy. In
and out of the pool and house. Einstein and Greta
keep them in line and well exercised as Estee sits on
the table out of range of said teeth. The first
puppies will start going home next Friday the 20th at
9 weeks. New individual pictures were taken this
morning and are posted on Estee and Charles Puppies
page.

On these warm summer days, a kiddie swimming pool is
great for man and beast. They go in and out at will.
Who knows, maybe Sile will take a dip when visiting
Logan today.
Not only was today a good day for a dip, but Sile jumped right in and adopted Logan, and he was renamed to Pavlov. Lucky dog.

Einstein and Michael continued their winning ways at
Contra Costa Kennel Club Shows in Vallejo June 7,8.
The awards Saturday are for second best Bichon Frise
Dog and Reserve Winner. The awards Sunday are for
Best Bichon Frise Dog, Best of Opposite Sex, and Best
of Winners. Plus Einstein collected one more point
towards Champion status on Sunday.

Dr. Hauser, our vet of 19 plus years, gave the first
series of vaccinations for Distemper, Hepatitis,
Parvovirus, Coronavirus, Parainfluenza, and Lepto,
physical check-up, and worming of all the puppies.
We have been asked in the past, what exactly does the vet check for? How about the following 13 items being Normal in addition to the Body Condition Score of 3, or Ideal.

Lake County, a popular destination for this litter it
seems, to live with Diana and Tom. Congratulations!

What started with Showing Einstein could continue with Anton

Patricia and I have noticed that what started with
Einstein could continue with Anton, because he is
displaying the same characteristics that meet breed
standards for Show as we saw in Einstein as a puppy.
Anton has dark features against a thick white coat, a
regal gait, is quite playful and has great paw
gestures. As a result, we will be reserving him until
at least 12 weeks for further evaluation. This is the
present status of the puppies:

Wow! They did it again, adding to the array of awards
won this AKC Show Season. Saturday and Sunday,
Einstein won 3 awards each day plus points. The
awards are for best Bichon Frise Dog, Best of
Opposite Sex, and Best of Winners each day. Hooray
and hazzar!

The Hangtown Kennel Club Show in Placerville,
Saturday and Sunday May 24-25, 2008, is next up for
Einstein and Michael. Einstein's momentum is growing,
as he is more confident and playful in the ring from
what I saw yesterday in Vallejo. And what can we say
about Michael but outstanding. Einstein works for him

Patricia will be making puppy visitation calls this
Wednesday and Thursday, May 14-15, to set up first
appointments and meetings between prospective
families and Estee and her pups. The litter will be 4
weeks old this Saturday, visitations start at 6
weeks, Vet check and first shots at 7 weeks, and they
start going home at 8 weeks, or about June 14th. We
look forward to meeting you all.

This litter is very active and strong. They are
constantly escaping their litter basket and roaming
the living room. Their eyes are fully open and fur
has really gotten thick. When they can walk it will

CoCo is going to Texas today to join Merlin at The Grooming Table

CoCo is going to Texas today on American Airlines to
be with and mate again with Merlin. Merlin has been
the Mascot for The Grooming Table in Dallas for
almost a year. CoCo will also be available for my Mom
who is able to handle little CoCo just fine. You may
recall she lost her 15 yr. old Bichon while in the
hospital after a heart attack and broken hip in
January. She just couldn't deal with a puppy or a
larger adult. Merlin and CoCo had awesome litters
also, and we all expect to see more.

Estee's water broke at 11:15 pm on the 18th, labor
started about 12:15 am on the 19th and the first
puppy was born about 2:40 am. This is a very strong
and active litter already. Estee did very well, and
this will be her last litter.

You really need to view her Pedigree, as she has a rather extensive champion blood lines, with 13 Champions in 4 generations, very heavy on the outstanding lines from Paray with parents from California, Canada and Brazil. We anticipate a love match between The Baroness and Einstein to take place this summer with their first litter in the Fall of 2008.

and she is enjoying some peace and quiet lounging
around with CoCo. Einstein is in Sacramento training
with Michael and will be there until the completion
of his first conformation competition.

To those
who are waiting, Estee is progressing well at 4 weeks
into gestation. She appears to be putting on a little
weight and is definitely resting more frequently. We

Culmore Canines Update

What a month January turned out to be! CoCo and
Einstein's first litter together. My Mother's cardiac
events and broken hip. Texas. Great new adopting
families. And now to top it off, Estee is in cycle
and off next week to have fun in the sun with her own
true love, Prince Charles. 10 days of the same time
next year.
Gaspar, the only pup available, is really a gentle dog and affectionate towards the entire litter. He really takes after his father, Einstein, in that he is a real snuggler. His conformation is excellent.
Weights will be posted Friday and new pictures by Sunday.
The first shots and vet check are scheduled for next week.

My Mother is doing fine and the pups are going back
online later today.
As you may know my 85 year old mother had a series of heart attacks, one of which caused her to fall and break her hip about 3 weeks ago. Pins were inserted into her femur and a new style combination pacemaker and defibrillator was implanted in her shoulder area in Dallas. I was there the whole time and was unable to do any updates as a result. We do appreciate your patience and prayers.
An update of their weight progress will be posted as soon as Patricia has finished.

Starting at 12:45 am Friday December 28, 2007, CoCo
gave birth to 4 females and 1 male. They came about
every hour until 4:25 this morning. All are very
talkative and weigh in at 6-7 ounces each. Their
names, in order of birth, are: Angel, Star,
Magdelena, Gaspar (the Wise Man) and Gloria. Below is
the first puppy group picture taken at about age 7

CoCo has added 30% to her body weight, puppies very soon

CoCo has added the equivalent of about 30% to her
body weight (now up to a total weight of 15 lbs!!!),
and we should be seeing puppies very soon, as
Christmas is just around the corner. There is a lot
of movement, and she is now more like a little
bowling ball. Stay tuned!

observed what appears to be kicking, turning and

CoCo is 3 weeks away from whelping

CoCo is 3 weeks away from whelping and has put on the
equivalent of 16% body weight. She's already our
little watermelon. Estee is now the grand protector
and watchdog because Einstein is constantly grooming
CoCo and giving a little love and affection, so he's
way too busy to be the Leader of the Pack.

CoCo is putting on weight and is now 3 weeks along in
her pregnancy. Einstein keeps her active, and is very
good at licking her ears and keeping her happy. Estee
is really back to her enthusiastic, girlish self, and
is ready to school those pups. The following picture

On October 17, 2007 we were voted into the Mensona
Kennel Club, based in Santa Rosa, CA. The name comes
from the fact that members are from Mendocino,
Sonoma, and Napa counties here in Northern
California. It is an AKC All Breed Kennel Club since
1953 and this last August held their 100th AKC Dog
Show. As all dog clubs, the goals are the advancement
of all breeds of pure bred dogs, the education of
their owners and to conduct AKC events.

CoCo and Einstein have tied the knot

In the last week, CoCo and Einstein tied the knot not
once, not twice, but 8 times! Amazing! Dr. Hauser
says that for 2 dogs who live together all the time,
it is not unusual for the female to allow more
frequent service acts. This is good because even if
sperm levels are low, quantity helps. It can also
affect the size of the litter on the side of more
puppies. The first service act was October 24, and 63
days from then theoretically means puppies on
Christmas day. What amazing presents for all of us.
Puppies should be ready for adoption pick up starting
around the end of February or first of March.

Estee is fine after a false pregnancy

Estee
and her Prince Charles had their 4th anniversary week
in bliss in late July, however, their mating this
time has resulted in a false pregnancy. Even though
Estee exhibited all the physical signs of pregnancy
such as weight gain, swelling of the abdomen,
preparation of a nest and swelling mammary glands,
there are no puppies. Our vet, Dr. Hauser says this
could be caused by a hormonal imbalance, it might be
that the eggs at that particular season were not
fertile and, if the bitch is mated on a subsequent
heat, that she will whelp a normal litter. In the
mean time, Estee is snuggling with her Bichon puppet
and CoCo and Einstein to "mother". It has also been
recommended to occasionally apply alternating hot and
cold packs to her swollen breasts, and to pat not rub
her breasts as rubbing can actually stimulate the
production of milk. We are also reducing the food and
liquid intake and soon her problems will be over.
Most importantly, Estee is happy, active and in no
distress. Estee and Charles will mate again during
her next cycle provided Estee is healthy and we have
Dr. Hauser's approval.
Estee is taking her sweet time with this litter

Calculations and
planning are alright if they are on target as in the
past litters, but Mother Nature has her own schedule.
Estee is doing fine and full of energy, so we
patiently wait.

appears to be right on time and all she wants to do
is sleep and eat, and kiss. CoCo keeps sniffing her
all about and Einstein cuddles up to her to keep her
warm. They seem to form a little triangle that moves
from place to place, never far apart.

Belinda
and Frank pick up a very well socialized Jet
tomorrow, the last of the puppies to go home. Estee
is about 28 days from whelping, CoCo is really glad
to be through nursing and mothering, and Einstein is
really coming along well being the Master of the
house. He will really miss Jet as all they want to do
is play and jawbone all day.

Einstein XXI just didn't have that certain ring to

weighs in at 3 pounds 4 ounces. He is very content
playing with Einstein as much as possible and runs
the house and yard with ease. He even came up the
steps part way to the second floor. He gets his
second shots and evaluation this Friday the 25th.

Tuesday. Topo will be going home Saturday, but Jet is

and Mike today and will be going to live in Fremont
in two weeks. All he wanted to do is play with Sara,
and he is such a handsome boy we are sure he will

Dr. Hauser gives vaccinations and all puppies passed their 1st check-up

veterinarian check-up from Dr. Hauser, our vet of
over 18 years with Bichon Frise. They all passed with
flying colors, and only a few even yipped at the

Yesterday, Ruth fell
in love with Topo, and shortly after that Caity and
Patricia, after much consideration, decided that
Peaches'n Creme was the perfect companion for their
little male Bichon Teddy. Puppy pick up will begin
around the middle to end of August. The more
socialization the better.

puppies are developing wonderfully in size, pure
white with halos showing as well as black noses and
features. Their eyes are at various stages of opening
with Topo showing the most wide open. The puppies
first individual pictures will be taken as soon as
their eyes are fully open, probably this weekend.

We were the only Bichons this time.

Assembly Bill 1634, the California bill that will require any dog or cat over the age of four months to be spayed or neutered unless the owner qualifies for and obtains an intact animal permit, has passed the California State Assembly on a vote of 41-38, the bare minimum needed for passage. The vote tally is listed below.
Please thank the legislators who voted to oppose AB 1634. We need to let them know how much their support means to us.
The American Kennel Club wishes to thank all the people who have worked so hard to defeat this legislation. The fact that the vote was so close and that final passage only occurred after 10 hours of lobbying demonstrates that we had a very large impact!!
AB 1634 will now proceed to the State Senate.
Concerned dog owners, breeders and fanciers are encouraged to contact their State Senator and ask him/her to oppose AB 1634. Remember, hard copy letters are better than emails and office visits are even better! To find out who represents you in the California State Senate click here.

weighs 14 1/2 pounds now and is expecting next Friday
June 15. Considering CoCo normally weighs 11 lbs., 14

Eye Research Foundation and their testing program as
well as O.F.A., the Orthopedic Foundation for
Animals, are the foundation of our breeding program
after selecting quality bloodlines. Both Merlin and
CoCo have passed CERF annually as well as Merlin
being over 2 years of age has passed his OFA.

morning CoCo weighed in at 12 pounds, a full pound
gain from her regular weight of 11 pounds, since her
mating with Merlin. She is filling out and is firmer
with nipples protruding as Mother Nature gets CoCo
ready. Today is half way and puppies are due around
June 15-17.

looking very motherly carrying around her Bichon
Frise hand puppet. Merlin has settled down and is
ever vigilant. Estee is seeing all the tasty diet
changes CoCo is being treated to, and she is ready to
get pregnant just for the food!!! Those goodies
include baked chicken, fresh veggies, Esbolac
supplement, Calcium Pet Tabs, egg, Science Diet Puppy
Food and a little extra of each here and
there.
CoCo and Merlin Mating Completed on Schedule

CoCo and
Merlin were right on schedule and successfully mated
5 times from April 13 to April 17th, tying the knot
one time each of the 5 days, and the mating sessions
were from 30 minutes to an hour. They sure do love
each other. Merlin is such an outstanding male, and
is so tender with CoCo, licking her and cleaning her
constantly and standing guard to make sure she is
safe and protected. Amazing.

Hermes went home with Cindy and John, and Dionysis

Hauser, our vet of 17 plus years, gave the first
series of vaccinations for Distemper, Hepatitis,
Parvovirus, Coronavirus, Parainfluenza, and Lepto,

is a male! It's now 1:30 and CoCo has 3 boys and 1

CoCo has
finally reached the stage where all she likes to do
is lay on her back and rest. She doesn't even want to
know how much weight she has put on, and the number
of puppies we are expecting is a complete unknown.
All the other dogs love snuggling with her,

We are so
thrilled! This is their first litter together, and it
is wonderful to know that both parents will be on
site to nurture and socialize the puppies. CoCo is
very healthy and pregnant, eating, sleeping and
playing with her normal enthusiasm. Merlin stays
close, regularly snuggling and cleaning his bride.
Adoption pick up should start the first week of
January, 2007, when they will be 8 weeks of age. So,
Christmas and Valentines Day, here we come!

He is very attentive and responsive to his name. His confirmation to the breed standard is very well displayed and he saunters around with a beautiful gait. His dense white fur and black features are now well defined. He has been given all of his shots, been wormed and received a Veterinarian check up on each visit. Bailey is available with full breeding rights. He comes with AKC Registration and documentation, a Health Guarantee and Adoption Kit.

Surprise! Surprise! CoCo is pregnant!

What was
to be a wedding of tradition has become a wedding of
necessity! It appears CoCo is pregnant and should be
expecting puppies sometime during the first two weeks
of November, which would make puppies available for
adoption sometime in early January, 2007. Those fancy
pants for CoCo and the male protective covers for
Merlin seemed to have been successful, until a rather
pronounced swelling started appearing on CoCo. You
can't fool Mother Nature! Stay tuned for details as
they become available, and contact us if you are
interested in reserving a puppy for you. Full details
on both Mademoiselle CoCo Chanel
III and
Merlin of Windsor Castle
can be
found on their own pages. CoCo will have her Vet
check next week so we will have some idea of the

We also need to prepare our "World Famous Bichon Frise Adoption Kits", the contents of which are so top secret, only us and new parents will ever know their contents.
We hope to get pictures of all the new families posted soon. A group picture of the pups will be posted tomorrow towards the end of the day.

We are so happy to see our "children" go to such wonderful homes, one and all, past and present. Seeing Lisa, Ernie and Chandler over the course of the last few days, which are littermates from the last 2 litters, including Merlin, further confirmed that we are receiving the highest compliment, the continuing love and affection towards our puppies from where they were placed. We thank you all.

are, brother Liberty and sister Belle, at 7 weeks and
4 days old! We are AKC Registered, healthy, happy,
started with crate training, and are available with
full breeding rights. We were given our first shots,
got wormed, and received our Veterinarian check-up,
which we passed with flying colors, last weekend. We
come with full documentation and a health guarantee.
We will be ready to go home with you starting next

news is that Patricia discovered yesterday that her
doctor will be performing back surgery as soon as she
is fitted for a body suit and final tests are
completed. This is a blessing for her. Recovery
should be complete by spring.
The bad news is that we will not be able to take on another puppy at this time, which means that Belle is now available for adoption along with Liberty. We surely hope someone wanting to breed Bichons adopts her, as she is just beautiful and mirrors Estee so much in looks and physique that she should have wonderful pups.
What this means to our breeding program is that Estee and CoCo will not be bred until at least next July or August of 2007, which would not make puppies available until September or October of 2007. We will be taking reservations for adoption and Merlin will still be available for Stud service. His OFA test is this October.

Liberty
is adoptable to the right family. He's really
playful, handsome, affectionate and will be a true
lapdog.
Starting today at 5:00 p.m. the pups ate their first hard kibble, the Science Diet Puppy Small Bites in the bag. They have been eating the Science Diet Savory Chicken Entree soft food in the can since last Friday night.
All puppies are walking very well, and quite briskly in the yard. Teeth are coming in upper and lower. Their eyes are clear and dark with very thick white fur. Eye halos, nose and foot pads are blackening well.
Weights will be updated Friday as usual.
Veterinarian check and the first shots are on Saturday the 26th of August. Remaining shots should be given about each 4 weeks after that until completing the series or as directed by your vet.
