Fisher & Paykel cooktop

Here's the F&P GC901M . 20K triple ring central burner is cool. And the simmer burner (500 to 3K BTU) is fine too. My problem with this unit is with the other three burners: two at 8.2K BTU and one at 5.8K. Too anemic for me. I often want two (or even three) burners going at pretty high output.

Ayva:

This really depends upon your cooking style. MEM9 and I have conversed about this before. My present range is lucky if it gets to 8K BTUs/Hr. My primary need is for one big burner for wok cooking, high temperature sauteing or getting a big pot of water to a boil. I have never had a need for two or more high output burners at one time.

If your needs are similar to MEM9 then the F&P 901M is not for you. Otherwise, it is a fine cooktop and many, such as Museumknitter, have been very happy with it's sibling, the 901 with "only" a 14K BTU/Hr triple ring burner.
