Does anybody have any experience with the GE Monogram 36" gas cooktop? We must finalize appliance decisions soon for our new house, and this cooktop has come highly recommended.

If you search this forum for threads related to 36" ranges, rangetops or cooktops you will find quite a lot of discussion regarding the pros and cons of 36" ranges and cooktops. The GE Monogram 36" rangetop is made by DCS, I'm not sure if the cooktop is as well. DCS makes excellent rangetops and cooktops. All of the information I have read indicates that DCS makes the Monogram product well, but with a year or two lag on the latest DCS improvements/gadgets.

Twodahls is correct, the GE rangetop is made by DCS. I have studied both and am going for the GE, mainly because of price - the DCS burners are 17K btu each as opposed to 15K for the GE...but are pratically equal in every other way. I have heard plenty of excellent reviews on the DCS, none on the Monogram, but I feel pretty confident that since DCS makes it, it will be a very good product. I have seen the GE at a local dealer and it appears to be as well-made in every respect as the DCS.
