Lower the cooktop!
Remember that you like how your existing cooktop is
4" below counter height!
Also, read
this (for deciding on 30" vs 36"): "Note the other thread about six burners:
everyone says its really the space, not the burners, that are important." Given
that we've gotten used to a 40" cooktop, 30" might be really hard to get used to
again...
