Attaching other doors to IKEA* Posted by: dcrhere on Mon, Jan 26, 04 at

We used off-the-shelf Mill's Pride doors from Home Depot with IKEA cabs - no problem. The hinges lined up perfectly. I recommend buying the cheapest IKEA drawer front (just one for about $5) to use as a template to drill the appropriate holes into the new drawer front to attach the IKEA drawer. If you need to drill your doors for the hinges, I recommend getting a Jig-It from rockler.com for setting Blum hinges with a forstner bit. Again, get a cheap cabinet door from IKEA and set the Jig to fit those holes, then transfer the jig to the new door and drill. You don't need a drill press - this will work with a hand drill. FYI, you can order just doors from Home Depot too - see the display about 'refinishing' your kitchen. Posted: Tue - June 22, 2004 at 02:52 PM |
