Make some floats!

Starting with a piece of 2 inch polystyrene and cut a length about 12 inches long.


Shape the polystyrene by cutting and sanding, then cut the piece in half and round off the ends. Beware it's messy!


Cut slots in the sides and push the skids in to locate the floats, then attach them with tie-wraps. You can see how it works here. The first test flight is here - but the battery wasn't fully charged...
