(I do not have endorsement relationships with any of the following companies at this time.)
Drums
I currently use a few different kits:
Slingerland Mahogany: 13,16,22 from 1963. Really, these are my dad's drums. I have the matching Radio King snare and another Slingerland student model from '61 that I love for jazz.
Pearl MHX Masters Mahogany: 8,10,12,14,16" toms, 22" kick and a 20" Maple kick plus a matching 5x14 mahogany.
Spaun maple, 10,12,14,16,22. I really love the look of this one- black oyster pearl.
Snares: My affinity for snare drums is well known. I don't disclose the total number I own, but I have many of the major manufacturers at this point (Dunnett, Brady, DW, Noble and Cooley, Pearl, Ludwig, Yamaha, etc.)
I have been using a snare from Drumsound Drums; click to see their website.
Zildjian Cymbals
I stick with K Customs for the most part, but have a few A Customs that I am very fond of and some A's that are great, plus some awesome prototype cymbals.
Evans Drumheads
I like Evans' great sound, construction and consistency. They have this great point system where you get free stuff, too, like mugs and pint glasses. Also impressive from Evans/D'Addario: Magnetic Drum Key. It works great- it even stays on bottom lugs!
Gon Bops
I use Gon Bops California Series Congas. They are the top of the heap, hands down.
Musser
I got hold of a Musser Glockenspiel. I am still working out the Sorcerer's Apprentice excerpt.... Thanks to Bill Youhass of Fall Creek Marimbas I was able to replace a missing bar.
Other Gear
Grover Pro Percussion, Gauger bass drum mallets, Roland electronics, Wuhan metallics, Spectrasound mark tree, some homemade bamboo and conduit chimes, as well as 'found' instruments like gourds and a sound effect I made by stringing frozen juice can lids together. I will play anything around- I have played pots and pans, Nalgene bottles, even a wall (security at the 2001 NFL Commissioners Ball was pretty tight- they wanted me to prove I was a percussionist. I proved it.) I'm also hoping to finish a little PVC pipe project begun in college, basically some quarter toms (aka octobans).
