We've bought a forest!



Well, no, not actually a forest, but we have purchased 10 conifers to give us a natural screen in the event of new neighbours in the house opposite to ourselves. We've been saying for the past 5 years that we'd do this, so its nice to know that we've finally acted!

Anyway, after going through several types, we went for a specimen of around 4 feet. These weren't labelled but I suspected they were the fast-growing Leylandii type.

I approached a worker at the centre as I wanted to make sure of the contents of the overflowing trolley that Alan was struggling with. "Oh yes, they're Leylandii all right," he said. "By the time you get to the cash desk, they'll be double the size!!"

We were all giggling away with this remark! Its lovely when you meet someone who so obviously enjoys their work, eh???
