During the spring months Team 7-0 students will participate in the "Do Something" Program. Students will provide services, tasks, or chores for individuals, families, businesses, or organizations in return for agreed-upon donations to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a nonprofit hospital, Children's Hospital needs the help and support of individuals and businesses to sustain the great work done there. The Do Something Program will make it possible for students to raise and earmark funds for needed items or services and purchase those items and services for the hospital. Students will determine how the funds are used. Items will be purchased directly online by the students of Team 7-0.

Last year, Team 7-0 students raised over five thousand dollars. The students of Team 7-0 are always very proud of themselves and their efforts in this endeavor. When students work together, it once again proves that a single voice can make a multitude of difference.

King Bartosiewicz has asked you to design and build a mighty siege machine called a trebuchet that will hurl a projectile to break down the walls of Count Canelli's and Lord Willard's castle and rescue the fair princesses: Lady Madden and Lady Ambrosini. You must not only build a working "Warwolf," but you must also be able to accurately predict where to place your trebuchet to hit the castle. You will be assigned to a team of engineers to build your war machine and to compete against other groups.

As a member of a group of four, you will follow the directions found at the website listed below. Each group will be assigned a computer and given all the materials needed to build a trebuchet. Your group will be responsible for providing any materials needed to decorate or paint your trebuchet.

In October, all Team 7-0 students will travel to Lyndhurst, New Jersey, and step back in time. Imagine a history lesson presented by a King and his Noble Court, set within the walls of an 11th century-style castle. Every detail is painstakingly re-created as our students take a personal journey back to the Middle Ages. Students will enjoy amazing swordplay, spectacular horsemanship, medieval games of skill, and an authentic jousting tournament. The students will also join the King and Queen for a true Medieval Feast including roasted chicken, soup, potatoes, and a medieval dessert.
