The 100 Greatest Americans



Here are the 100 greatest people in our nation's history according to a recent Discovery Channel survey. I guess I can understand Rush Limbaugh, since he reinvigorated the medium of radio and had a clear effect on American political discourse. But Ellen DeGeneres? And Tom Cruise? This type of survey can easily be written off since it's based only on viewer responses. But still, I don't know of any sane person who, when asked to name some of the greatest Americans in history, would respond "Tom Cruise".
There are apparently plenty of them out there.
