Desperation

So now the Senate minority leader is illegally referring to confidential FBI files of judicial nominees (all nominees have these files); creating vague charges which he knows can't be defended since the files are not allowed to become public. What does Reid find so troubling in Justice Saad's file? Did he contribute to a pro-life organization? Place a creche on his lawn? What's troubling to Reid may not be troubling to all of us. Unfortunately, we'll never know what's in the file.

"Republican staff members and supporters of Mr. Bush's nominees were outraged. "Can you think of a better way to trash someone's reputation?" Sean Rushton of the conservative Committee for Justice asked after seeing a transcript of the remarks. "Say that there is bad stuff from an FBI investigation in a file somewhere and leave that hanging. This is character assassination of the lowest order and completely improper."
Republicans on Capitol Hill weren't saying much publicly, but several denounced the action privately as an "underhanded smear" or worse."

You can tell Harry Reid and the Democrats are getting desperate when they break with traditional Senate ethics (not to mention ignoring laws) to undermine Bush's agenda.
No wait, that's always been their modus operandi.
