Winning the lottery. Every day

Bob Wehle of Ripon Wis found a diamond at the crater of diamonds state park. It's a 5.47 carat canary diamond. As far as I know, he gets to keep it. Lucky guy. One of the 3 guys who came up with youtube quit the company and went back to school. He still retained an ownership stake in youtube making him incredibly wealthy when youtube sold. Actually, this is the second time for him, the first time he was involved with a little company called paypal and he got rich then too. Some guys get all the luck.

CRIBS, was on when a friend of mine came over. After 5 minutes of Master Ps mansion, I decided that CRIBS should be renamed: "My Life Sucks". That's how it makes me feel anyways. My friend left with the comment: "I'll never know what it's like to live like that." I flipped through the channels. A documentary on poverty was on and as child after child stared at me with the lethargy that being near death brings, I realized that I would never know what it's like to live like that either. To a child without food to eat, any of our lives would seem like CRIBS.

We hear a lot about people who get lucky, but we forget that all around us, tragedy is happening to people... a drunk driver kills the parents of a young child, an IED takes the legs of a young soldier, my own father had prostate cancer and right now a dear friend of mine just found out her mother has cancer...

What would you pay to be cured of cancer if you had it? Every day we wake up healthy, every day we have our loved ones in your life, we have won the lottery. Every day we are blessed beyond measure and we squander our rich lives if we don't realize how lucky we are. Each day we are given is a gift that can be used, spent, enjoyed and lived richly.

If I sound preachy, it's because I'm preaching to myself.

Live, love.
