Nature always wins

I was location scouting on wednesday, turns out I'm doing a photoshoot for inpop artist Jimmy Needham whose music I rather like. Anyways, somehow despite all the other chaos I have going on right now, I said yes to yet another project... ah well... I am looking forward to stretching that particular muscle since I've ordered a bunch of new gear... so like I said I was location scouting and I came across this truck... well actually Shara pointed it out. What seems to have happened is that someone abandoned this truck complete with load of dirt and it's been there so long that the grass has actually grown inside it. I figure in a couple years, no one will ever even know there's a truck underneath it all... this nicely illustrates the second law of thermodynamics: a tendency towards entropy. Ha ha.

I really should post this photo in hi-res, the textures are actually gorgeous. If you're wondering why this photo looks a little surreal, it's because it's an HDR or high dynamic range image and is a combination of bracketed exposures. Unlike other photographers who are using this tool right now, I'll just tell you, it's done in a program that's called photomatix which costs around $100 and you can download it and play with it yourself, it's quite fun.

Incidentally, in the Canon versus Nikon wars, I switched from Nikon to Canon, buying all new glass. (eek). Now, the real question is, who can tell me when the switch was?

IT"S NOT THE GEAR PEOPLE, IT"S THE SHOOTER!

of course, the reason I went Canon is because Canon has better noise performance at high ISO and I shoot a lot in low light. I wish I could graft my nikon glass onto my canon body though. That's what they did for corpse bride... nikon glass is better. canon sensors are better.
