Late night photo experiments




Well matt has been up here and we've been mixing a new band we're helping launch (more on that later) and in between marathon mixing sessions I've been experimenting with some new jtl everlights. The everlights are a pretty amazing deal for the money but be forewarned, the color temperature isn't exactly daylight balanced. (no biggie if you know how to custom white balance). I processed the shot here to get the color the way it is, so that's not a reflection of how the everlights look. Color issues and cheap build aside it's pretty amazing to get 3 500w lights w stands, 2 softboxes, a reflector, barndoors and a case for $499. (postage included) The everlights are continuous light so they have a different feel from strobes and are also useful for video, but really not all the bright. Matt hasn't showered in 2 days btw.

UPDATE: I gave up on the JTLs, they blow fuses constantly.
